You were more than just my grandpa. You were the person who play an important role in the person that I am today. I wouldn’t have learn what it means to have strength and compassion without you. I will always cherish the long summers that I spent with you and grandma in San Francisco. Thank you for always taking me to FAO Schwarz store in Union Square so I can play with all the toys that rich kids have. You never purchase anything from that store for me because you told me that I would always get bored of toys. Instead, you spend your money on my favorite food because you told me that I would never get old of it. You were right, I’m still not bored of my favorite food. I still chuckle at the memory I have of us, where you told me to not be a nagging Chinese woman like your grandmother. One of the biggest things I’m going to miss doing with you is drinking a beer with you. I still remember my parents scolding at you for trying to have me sip some beer at a very young age. But you told my parents that you were trying to build up my alcohol tolerance level to toughen me up so boys would never be able to take advantage of me when I’m older. Don’t worry grandpa, no boys have ever, all thanks to you (oh but i’m not alcoholic though). Thank you for loving the silly person that I am and for always laughing with me. I’m devastated by the lost of you, but I’m going to stay strong because you told me to be. I won’t forget you because I love you too much. Thank you for everything you have done for me. Rest in peace grandpa.

I’m your first granddaughter. Second grandchild. And one of fifteen grandchildren that who is going to miss you dearly. It breaks my heart. You were the best.
